Write an introduction to an informative and factual blog post titled "Goth Culture's Dark Side". Goth culture today ranges from the lighthearted, happy punk rock person to the dark, depressing individuals who find bleakness in life. This darkness is typically found in the music that goths listen to or fashion that they wear. It is not uncommon for people who are into goth culture to be depressed because of how anti-social they are. A lot of people see this as their outlet for happiness but it can also lead them straight into a depressive spiral.—Gothic Freaks The darker half of Gothic Freaks suggests that Goth is not all about gloom and doom, but actually has some lighthearted moments as well. The lighthearted side of Goth is often displayed through fashion and an interest in the past. For example, a Goth will typically dress in a Victorian or Elizabethan inspired outfit whereas a person who is not a goth would typically be seen wearing a set of khaki shorts and a polo shirt. Many times, this style of dressing can be connected to historical figures such as Queen Elizabeth I, Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet, and Anne Boleyn from Henry VIII's court.—Gothic Freaks Blogging about the darker side of Goth culture serves to give hope to people who are considering taking part in the lifestyle. There are people, like the ones who run Gothic Freaks, who want to help Goths to make better choices when it comes to their mental health. They will often steer Goths away from the more extreme aspects of the lifestyle in order to keep them from becoming lonely or depressed.—Gothic Freaks On March 3rd, 2012 I received an email asking me for permission for this article to appear in a book that would be distributed through Christian bookstores. Quite surprised I wrote back immediately saying "yes" and requested information on the author and his beliefs so I could decide if this would be something worth reading. I got another email back informing me that it was a self published book and the author believed in the same Christian God I do. I asked for more information and found out it was $8.00 and would be available sometime in mid April of 2012. I decided to order one and give it a good hard look over. On April 11, 2012, I wrote about my findings: "It came today! It is written by Jonathan Reed and the title is "Goth Culture: What You Need To Know." As far as keeping outside influence from marring the message of this book goes, the author did an excellent job as all 87 pages are clean as a whistle. The book is divided into nine main parts: I read the entire book from cover to cover and gave it a good solid look over. I must say that this is an EXCELLENT BOOK! In my opinion, it breaks down the topic in a very easy to use format, but still manages to hit all important points which are presented in an EXCELLENT manner. In closing I would have to say this book is a must have for anyone who has a serious interest in Goth culture. The author brings up so many issues and thoughts about Goth culture in a easy to understand format that even someone who isn't too certain about the lifestyle should pick up this book. cfa1e77820
